Mahima Nambiar calls ‘Comrade Kalyan’ a fun entertainer

Actress Mahima Nambiar has joined hands with Sree Vishnu for the first time in Telugu film ‘Comrade Kalyan’ which is a period entertainer laced with humor, romance and drama.

The actress said she enjoys the role of comic relief in Sree Vishnu’s style. Directed by Janakiram Marella, the film is presented by Kona Venkat and produced by Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati of Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP. Set to release globally on October 9, Mahima said she has learned Telugu to deliver dialogues in her character Sitara Devi, a innocent girl next door from Odisha, correctly after understanding the language.

The actress said Sree Vishnu is spontaneous and mostly improvises his dialogues during the shoot which was fun to work with despite challenges. Mahima added that the comic relief between the lead pair was created using language-based jokes that has been well received by the audience including the song ‘Odiya Pilla’.

“I got attracted to the script as the 90s theme and commercial approach was unique. Though it had Naxalism overtones, it was treated in a humorous way without any negative intention,” she added.

While talking about her future plans, the actress said she is looking forward to doing different roles in various languages and is currently working on a Malayalam and Tamil projects apart from listening to Telugu scripts.
