Maa Manikeshwari University marks 6th Foundation Day
Bhabanipatana: Maa Manikeshwari University celebrated its sixth Foundation Day on Tuesday at its main campus. The Vice Chancellor, Pawan Agrawal, presided over the commemorative function. Kalahandi MP Malvika Devi graced the event as the chief guest. The former CEO of the National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), Ashok Dalwai, delivered the keynote address as the chief speaker. Junagarh MLA Dibya Shankar Mishra , Kalahandi Collector Pawar Sachin Prakash and Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Das attended as guests of honour.

The Vice Chancellor highlighted the university’s recent achievements and introduction of a new Habaspuri handloom skilling programme for students. Additionally, he emphasised the implementation of a new central evaluation system designed to ensure fair examination practices.
MP Malvika Devi emphasised transforming Kalahandi into India’s most prosperous district by fostering collaboration among the university, district administration, and the public. Echoing this vision, former Collector Ashok M Dalwai shared his 1990s administrative experiences, highlighting how leveraging local knowledge and empowering human resources can drive regional wealth and development.
The celebration was attended by University Syndicate members, retired principals, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and local intellectuals. Registrar Gunanidhi Naik delivered the welcome address, while Deputy Registrar Jaydev Sahu extended the vote of thanks. The meeting was moderated by Kailash Chandra Das, Head of the History Department.
