Jana Nayakan’s OTT Streaming Is Locked

Jana Nayakan… It was one of the most-awaited films of the year, especially among Vijay’s massive fan base… Although it was scheduled to hit the big screens during Sankranthi festival, the censor issues delayed it for 6 long months. But everything seemed cool once Vijay became CM. This movie hit the big screens on 23rd July and turned into a blockbuster with an impressive plot.

Jana Nayakan was first mentioned as the remake of Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari, but later makers confirmed that only 50% plot and certain portions were retained and the remaining story was modified for the Tamil audience.”

As Vijay’s final film before his full-time political career, Jana Nayagan naturally carried strong political undertones. The film also featured several political references, which became a major talking point among audiences.

Initially everything was fine until the shooting stage… but things turned upside down once the movie got postponed. Thereafter, Vijay’s spectacular win in the elections, boosted the pre-release business of Jana Nayakan and helped the movie to turn into a massive blockbuster even though the reviews were not that good.

Now, this movie is moving to OTT… Thus, the wait for the digital release is over. Jana Nayakan will stream on Zee 5 from 21st August, 2026! So, this would be Vijay’s final OTT movie… Even Zee 5 Tamil shared a promotional video on social media along with the official announcement!
