Is Dhanush entering politics after Vijay? His viral speech has fans convinced

New Delhi: Tamil star Dhanush trended big on the internet after his speech at a fan event went viral, sparking speculations over his political ambitions.

He addressed a gathering at a blood donation camp organised by his fans on Sunday (July 26). In his speech, he encouraged his fans to go beyond film celebrations and engage in welfare activities within their communities.

Dhanush to enter politics?

Dhanush urged his fans and supporters to find a purpose bigger than cinema for their unity.

Addressing the crowd, he said in his speech, “So many people are gathered in one place. There’s a great power in this kind of unity. We need to give that unity a purpose. Beyond just audio launches and meetups, we need to engage in even more welfare activities. Understand the needs of the people in your area, the families living around you and help them in whatever way possible. Do whatever help you can for them. I need to feel even prouder of you. I believe you will do it.”

As soon as the video of his speech went viral on social media, fans speculated that Dhanush is set to enter politics after Thalapathy Vijay.

One user wrote, “#Dhanush gives a Strong hint about his Political Entry: “So many people have gathered in one place.. This kind of unity has a power..💪 You need to give that unity a purpose.. Not just through audio launches and meet ups. Join hands and do more welfare work.. Do whatever you can for the people in your area and the families living around your house.. I want to feel even more proud of all of you. I hope you all do it..”

“#Dhanush indirectly hints about his political entry,” wrote another.

Another wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “#Dhanush gave a strong signal for his political entry: “So many people are gathered in one place…There’s a great power in this kind of unity. We need to give that unity a purpose…Beyond just audio launches and meetups, We need to engage in even more welfare activities…The people in your area, The families living around your home. Do whatever help you can for them… I need to feel even prouder of you…I believe you will do it.”

How rumours about Dhanush entering politics started?

In June, Dhanush’s father Kasthuri Raja responded to a question about Dhanush entering politics and said, “If he starts a party, he does; if not, he doesn’t.” He also said that not only his son, but his grandsons have the right to enter politics should they wish to.

Earlier in July, a photograph of a fan club flag, which was attended by Dhanush on Sunday, sparked rumours that it was his party flag.

However, director and fan club member Subramaniam Siva denied the rumours and said, “This is not a newly created flag. Our fan club members have been using this same flag for nearly 15 years during weddings, ear-piercing ceremonies, film releases and other celebrations. Some fans redesigned it in a smaller format to fit on cars during this year’s fan club meeting. People mistakenly assumed it was a new flag and linked it to Dhanush’s political entry.
