Injury forces Anahat Singh to withdraw from Canadian Women’s Open

Toronto: India squash star Anahat Singh withdrew from her quarterfinal against top seed Fayrouz Aboelkheir at the Canadian Women’s Open due to an injury.

The official website of the Professional Squash Association stated that Anahat had pulled out of the quarterfinal clash due to an injury but did not specify its nature.

The 18-year-old from Delhi has had a breakthrough year on the PSA Tour. At the Silicon Valley Open earlier this month, Anahat upset Egyptian eight-time world champion Nour ElSherbini en route to the semifinals.

She had also reached the women’s singles final at the Asian Games in Japan.
