IDFC FIRST Bank enables direct tax payments

IDFC FIRST Bank has integrated its payment gateway with the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), enabling taxpayers to make Direct Tax payments through UPI, credit cards, debit cards, internet banking and bank branches.

Taxpayers can use IDFC FIRST Bank’s retail and corporate internet banking platforms, while customers of other banks can also make payments through the bank’s gateway using their respective internet banking services. For offline payments, taxpayers can visit IDFC FIRST Bank branches and pay through cheque, demand draft or cash.

The facility also allows users to download challans and payment confirmations after completing transactions. Shirish Bhandari, Head – Retail Liabilities, IDFC FIRST Bank, said: “Customers today expect flexibility and choice in how they make payments.
