HDFC Bank gains 1.27% as CEO succession advances
New Delhi: Shares of HDFC Bank ended over 1 per cent higher on Tuesday as the company’s CEO succession plan moved forward with the lender sending two names for the top post to RBI. The bellwether stock rose 1.27 per cent to settle at Rs 717 on the BSE.

During the day, it edged higher by 3.14 per cent to Rs 730.30. At the NSE, the stock ended 1.17 per cent higher at Rs 716.55. Intraday, it climbed 3.17 per cent to Rs 730.75. The company’s market valuation surged by Rs 14,782.66 crore to Rs 11,05,196.64 crore. “HDFC Bank gained following developments around its CEO succession,” Vikram Kasat – Chief Business Officer – Advisory and Dealing at PL Capital, said.
More than a fortnight after incumbent Sashidhar Jagdishan opted out of the race to continue as HDFC Bank’s managing director and chief executive, the largest private sector lender on Saturday sent names of two candidates to the Reserve Bank as prospective successors.
