Gold futures rise on firm spot demand

New Delhi: Gold prices rose by Rs 115 to Rs 1.62 lakh per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the yellow metal contract for October delivery traded higher by 0.07 per cent in 674 lots.

Fresh positions by market participants led to a rise in the precious metal’s prices, analysts said. Gold futures fell 0.30 per cent to $4,643.42 per ounce in New York.
