India at Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026 Live Updates, Day 2: India’s Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign continues today with athletes in action across gymnastics, swimming, lawn bowls and boxing, and para powerlifting in Glasgow. This will be India’s 19th appearance at the Commonwealth Games.

The country’s biggest medal contenders in powerlifting are Ashok Kumar Malik, Parmjeet Kumar, Jaspreet Kaur, Suman Devi, Kasthuri Rajamani, Jhandu Kumar and Sudhir, who are set to compete in different weight categories as the nation looks to add to its medal tally.

In lawn bowls, Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki will face South Africa’s Thabelo Muvhango and Jacqui van Rensburg in the women’s pairs sectional round 2 match, while Putul Sonowal will take on Falkland Islands’ Cecil Alexander in the men’s singles sectional round 2.

India’s gymnasts will also begin their campaign with Tapeshwarnath Das, Swathish KP, Tapan Mohanty and Yogeshwar Singh competing in the men’s team and individual rounds. They will also look to qualify for the men’s team final scheduled for later in the day. In boxing, Jadumani Singh will face Scotland’s Aaron Cullen in the men’s 55kg Round of 32.
