Centre announces Diwali gift with 3% DA and DR hike, clears key schemes

New Delhi: The central government has approved a three per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday. The increase will take effect from July 1.

Vaishnaw shared the decision as part of a set of Cabinet approvals. The other decisions cover an allocation for PM Viksit Gram Swaraj Yojana, a container manufacturing promotion scheme and a scheme for sports goods and manufacturing.
