BJP Wins Nandigram Bypoll As Hasi Rani Rath Secures Landslide Victory
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Nandigram Assembly by-election in West Bengal with Hasi Rani Rath defeating its Congress opponent Milan Pradhan by 1,22,753 votes.

The report mentions that according to Election Commission of India (ECI) data Rath got 164427 votes which made up 75.94% of the votes polled. She had 1,63,630 votes polled by electronic voting machines (EVMs) and 797 postal ballots.
The Indian National Congress (INC) candidate, Pradhan, secured a second place with 41,674 votes (41,521 EVM vote and 153 Postal ballots). He received 19.25% of the overall votes cast.

Rath’s victory margin of more than 1.22 lakh votes marks a decisive win for the BJP in the politically significant Nandigram constituency.
The result places the party well ahead of its nearest challenger, with Rath securing nearly four times as many votes as Pradhan, according to the reported figures.
Nandigram has remained an important constituency in West Bengal politics, drawing attention because of its prominent role in the state’s political contests.
Congress Candidate Finishes Second
Congress candidate Milan Pradhan secured 41,674 votes to finish behind Rath. His vote share stood at 19.25%, compared with Rath’s 75.94%.
The reported results underline the wide gap between the two leading candidates in the by-election.
The ECI’s candidate-wise figures include votes recorded through both EVMs and postal ballots, providing the basis for the final tallies cited in the report.
