Big blow for New Zealand as star batter ruled out of ODI series against India
New Delhi: have suffered another major setback ahead of the second ODI against India as opener Devon Conway ruled out of the five-match series after suffering a concussion during training. He and pacer Matt Henry missed the first ODI in Auckland on Wednesday after colliding during fielding practice ahead of the game.

While Conway has been sidelined for the rest of the series, Henry has cleared of concussion and will be available for the second ODI in Wellington on Saturday, November 7. The hosts are already without two crucial players, Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman, and now have to find another solution as they look to level the series.
Nick Kelly, who was originally set to join the New Zealand squad for the fourth and fifth ODIs, is now included in the team for the Wellington ODI. He has been pulled out of the New Zealand A squad, which is set to play the third unofficial Test against India A in Lincoln on Saturday. Dale Phillips replaced him in the team.
There are two more changes in the New Zealand A squad, with pacers Simon Keene (hamstring), Ben Lister (side) and Fraser Sheat (side) sidelined with injuries. Keene and Sheat sustained their injuries earlier during the series, and both will “return to play for their domestic sides in the next three-to-four weeks,” according to an NZC release.
Keene and Sheat picked up six wickets each and were among the joint-highest wicket-takers in the unofficial Test series so far, along with Zak Gibson and India A’s Auqib Nabi. Brett Randell and Gibson will remain with the New Zealand A squad for the third unofficial Test, with Danru Ferns also joining the team for the match.
