Awarapan 2 CBFC cuts explained: Extreme violence deleted, drug scenes edited and more
New Delhi: Actor Emraan Hashmi is back as Shivam Pandit in , the sequel of the 2007 film, Awarapan. The makers unveiled the trailer of the film on Thursday (July 6) and it opened to positive reviews.
In the latest development, the film has received certification from the Central Board of Certification (CBFC), after asking for several cuts and modifications in the much-awaited film.
Awarapan 2 cuts by CBFC explained
According to Bollywood Hungama report, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was granted U/A 16+ certificate and asked the makers to add disclaimers for the depiction of drug use and child trafficking in the film. CBFC also asked them to add similar disclaimers for a smoking scene.
According to the rules in effect since 2021, the film’s title was also asked to be displayed in Hindi. Additionally, an anti-drug static sticker was asked to be placed in the bottom right corner during scenes of drug consumption.
Certain “obscene” words were also asked to be replaced in both audio and video. CBFC asked makers to reduce violent scenes by 50 per cent in the second half of the movie. Additionally, extreme violence scene was ordered to be deleted from three separate scenes. Censor Board also asked to remove a scene showing drug snorting. The end credits were asked to be adjusted to match the film’s music as well.

is 140.20 minutes long, which is 2 hours 20 minutes and 20 seconds after four minutes of deletion and 20 seconds of replacements, as ordered by the CBFC.
Awarapan 2 Box Office clash
Awarapan 2 is the only Hindi film this month to get U/A 16+ certification. The film is set to clash with Batwara 1947, Toxic and Mirzapur: The Movie, and all three have received ‘A’ certification.
