Apple Siri Settlement: iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 owners can claim up to $95

has opened the claims process for its $250 million settlement regarding the delay in updating Siri to Apple Intelligence. Eligible owners in the United States can now ask for a payment of twenty-five dollars per device. That amount might go up to much, as ninety-five dollars, based on how many people submit a claim.

The class-action lawsuit, Landsheft et al. V. Apple Inc., said the company marketed the iPhone 16 as a device “designed for Apple Intelligence ” even though the smarter version of Siri shown at WWDC 2024 was not yet ready. That enhanced version of Siri reached users 27 earlier this month—more than two years after its initial demonstration. Apple has denied any wrongdoing, and the settlement terms state that the agreement does not constitute an admission of liability.

Only US buyers of seven iPhone models qualify for the payment

The settlement includes purchases made from June 10 2024 to March 29 2025. Eligible devices are the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max along with all models, in the iPhone 16 series: iPhone 16 iPhone 16. iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max and the more affordable iPhone 16e.

Claimants must be the original purchasers, and the phone must have been acquired for personal or business use, not for resale. Buyers of these same models in India are not covered, as the lawsuit was filed and settled in the US.

To file a claim for the Apple Siri settlement, you will need your iPhone’s serial number

Claims can be submitted official website: SmartphoneAISettlement.com. The form asks for your name, address, phone number, and iPhone serial number (which can be found under Settings > General > About). If you do not have the serial number, the form will accept the email address associated with your Apple account and the phone number linked to the device instead.

Eligible owners should also receive an email in the coming days containing a claim ID and a PIN; however, it is possible to file a claim without them. Each device requires its own claim, and only one payment per phone is allowed. The maximum payout of ninety-five dollars depends on how many iPhone owners file a claim. Payments start at twenty-five dollars for each device. Can reach the maximum payout of ninety-five dollars if fewer valid claims are received than expected. Payment options include PayPal, Venmo, deposit and paper check.

Ryan Clarkson, co-lead counsel on the case and founder of Clarkson Law Firm, described the fund as the largest court settlement on record for false advertising.

The deadline to file claims is December 21, but payments will be delayed until 2027

The deadline to file claims is December 21 2026. A federal district court in San Jose will hold the approval hearing, on February 24 2027. Payments will be delayed until after that date meaning no payments will be issued before 2027.

Those with questions regarding eligibility can call the settlement administrator at 1-888-988-8945. For those who bought an iPhone 16 expecting the new version of Siri, the money will arrive even later than the feature itself.
