Apple’s September 9 event promises to be one of the company’s most significant product launches in years. The presentation, titled “Surprise and Shine,” will mark the first major iPhone launch under the leadership of new CEO John Ternus, with several standout products expected to take centre stage.

Foldable iPhone Ultra

The biggest announcement could be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, reportedly named the iPhone Ultra. This book-style device is expected to feature a large internal display and a smaller external screen; reports suggest a passport-like design when folded.

The phone could cost over $2,000, placing its projected price in India well above ₹200,000. It is also rumoured to use Touch ID instead of Face ID due to its extremely slim design.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

Apple is also expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Rumoured improvements include the A20 Pro chip, a Dynamic Island, variable aperture camera technology and Apple’s C2 modem.

The Pro models might also face price increases because the costs of parts are going up and this is putting strain on Apple’s pricing plan.

No standard iPhone 18 this year?

One of the important changes could be exactly what Apple chooses not to release. Information says that the regular iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e and the new iPhone Air might be pushed back, to the spring of 2027.

This means Apple’s September product lineup could focus entirely on high-end devices. There will likely be no iPhone priced below 100,000 rupees, at the event.

New Apple Watch and AirPods

Apple will also show the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4. Apple promises that the Apple Watch Series 12 will have health tracking. Apple also says that the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will offer battery life and new fitness features. Apple is aiming to give users a view of their health and more ways to stay active.

The company might also bring out the AirPods 5. Rumours suggest it will have audio features and a better chip. The version with cameras in the AirPods is not expected until 2027 according to reports.

The event is scheduled for September 9 and Apple is likely to share the prices, when it will be available and the details about the launch during the speech they will give.
