Apple may announce iPhone 18 Pro event date this week; 7 devices expected
Apple might announce the iPhone 18 Pro launch event date this week. People expect the company to show off the flagship lineup at a September event. If Apple follows the pattern as before the announcement, the iPhone 18 Pro could come on Thursday, August 27.

Last year, Apple announced the date for the iPhone 17 series event on August 27, and the iPhone 16 launch event was also announced on that same date. If the company repeats that schedule, the announcement for the iPhone 18 Pro event could arrive this Thursday. But here is a preview: the launch event is rumoured to take place on September 9.
This year’s launch could be particularly interesting, as Apple is reportedly preparing two major changes at opposite ends of its iPhone lineup. The iPhone 18 Pro Max could incorporate a major camera feature never before offered on an iPhone. At the same time, Apple’s first foldable iPhone—estimated to cost around $2,000—is expected to lack two key features that have been staples of the iPhone: the telephoto camera and Face ID. With seven devices reportedly in the works, Apple’s September event could be one of its most significant launches in years. Below is the list and some additional details.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
The iPhone 18 Pro models are said to bring changes to both the display and the cameras. Apple is reportedly working on moving some Face ID components under the display, which could reduce the size of the Dynamic Island or even eliminate it entirely.
The Pro models are also expected to receive camera upgrades, including a new sensor and variable aperture technology. The latter would allow the camera to control the amount of light entering through the lens. However, this feature might be exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Chinese leaker Ice Universe has claimed that the larger model “will exclusively feature a variable aperture.” If confirmed, this would offer Apple a new way to differentiate its two Pro models. A variable aperture could improve depth-of-field control and help adapt to various lighting conditions. Both phones are expected to feature Apple’s A20 Pro chip, bringing improvements in performance and efficiency. Additionally, the Pro Max model could come with a higher-capacity battery and a slightly thicker body.
The first foldable iPhone could be the biggest launch
Apple’s foldable iPhone—sometimes referred to as the iPhone Ultra—could attract even more attention. The device is expected to feature a large internal display and a smaller external screen that can be used like a conventional smartphone.
This premium phone could cost over $2,000 (or around 1.91 lakh rupees). Despite that price point, reports suggest Apple might omit two features found on its current high-end iPhones.
The foldable iPhone reportedly is not expected to have a dedicated telephoto camera. It may also use Touch ID instead of Face ID, potentially due to the design and space constraints involved in building a foldable phone.
That could make the device a tough sell for buyers who expect Apple’s most expensive iPhone to offer its most advanced camera and biometric systems.
Apple Watch and other products
The September event could see the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4 making their appearance. The Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4 are expected to focus on performance improved health tracking and new ways to support fitness routines. Apple might also bring case designs and new band choices for the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4.
Apple is also reportedly preparing an updated Apple TV box and a new HomePod mini. A dedicated smart home hub could arrive later this year or in early 2027.
The company’s plans for Mac and iPad will likely extend into the coming months. A MacBook Pro with the M6 chip, updated iMac models, and a new iPad mini are reportedly in development, with some of these products likely to appear in October.
Apple is also said to be working on a high-end MacBook with an OLED touchscreen, though that device might not arrive until late 2026 or early 2027.
