Anmol Bishnoi Seeks To Surrender In Court For Firing On Salman Khan’s Apartment

Anmol Bishnoi, a wanted suspect and the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who was involved in the April 2024 for firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s home had asked to surrender before court under the petition of special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court in Mumbai.

Anmol appealed before the Mumbai court saying he wanted to “voluntarily surrender” before the court to “face the ongoing trial and participate in judicial proceedings in the interest of a fair trial and justice.”

After being extradited from the US to India in November 2025, Anmol Bishnoi is presently being lodged at Tihar Jail in New Delhi. He was arrested after arriving in the country by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on the case linked to the alleged terrorist-gangster nexus of the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate.

The Special Judge, SR Navender on Thursday requested the public prosecutor to file a reply to the plea filed by Anmol. According to the application, Anmol is not allowed to appear before the Mumbai court without the proper legal orders, even if he is already under judicial custody in the NIA case.

He has thus requested the issuance of a production warrant to the Tihar Jail authorities for his surrender to be duly recorded and for remand in physical or virtual mode to be initiated.

The plea argues that the surrender will not harm the prosecution, and will help to speed up the trial and prevent unnecessary delay in the process. It further states that the trial in the Salman Khan house firing case has already started and that testimony of three prosecution witnesses have been recorded in Anmol’s absence.

The case came into light when the two gunmen on motorcycles allegedly opened fire outside the Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments home in Bandra, Mumbai, on April 14, 2024, and fled the scene. Mumbai Police then alleged that the attack was carried out by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang which triggered the MCOCA.

Meanwhile, the co-accused Vicky Gupta, Sagar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Mohammed Rafiq Chaudhary and Harpal Singh are all in judicial prison and the trial is ongoing. While another accused, Anuj Kumar Thapan, passed away in police custody. Both Anmol Bishnoi and Lawrence Bishnoi are listed as ‘wanted suspects’ in this case.
