According to Akshaye Rathi, the film may open between Rs 5 to Rs 7 crore on its opening day. In an exclusive conversation with News9 Digital, he said, “Well, Alpha is expected to do anything between 5 and 7 on Day 1, and it looks like the kind of movie that, with the right word of mouth and momentum, should grow day by day.”
When asked whether the film would be able to surpass the box office collections of previous YRF Spy Universe movies, he said, “Well, I don’t know if it will be able to beat the collections of the previous YRF Spy Universe films, because some of them have been absolutely humongous blockbusters, and Alpha will need a really special degree of appreciation for its content to reach those kind of numbers.”
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film has so far collected Rs 4.48 crore from 5,535 shows. The film’s current total India gross collection stands at Rs 5.29 crore, according to Sacnilk.
