AIDSO slams Mohandas’ shooting remark on Delhi protesters

The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) on Tuesday strongly condemned RSS ideologue TG Mohandas’ remarks on protesters in Delhi. It called them a reflection of a “fascist and sick mindset” characteristic of the RSS-BJP combine.

In a press statement on Tuesday, AIDSO general secretary Shibasis Praharaj expressed outrage over Mohandas’s statements, in which he advocated shooting protestors and made deeply misogynistic comments about women participants in protests.

TG Mohandas, a former head of BJP intellectual cell and a political commentator associated with the RSS in Kerala, said the protesters at Jantar Mantar would have been shot and killed if he was in control. He also said the women who were part of the protest like to be raped and would not even complain if it happens.

“These remarks lay bare the true face of the Hindutva outfit RSS, which has always compromised the well-being of the nation and society,” Praharaj said.

He accused the RSS of hiding behind caste and religion to divert attention from real issues, and of holding regressive views about women. “As per their ideology, women deserve no respect and must be confined within four walls,” he added.

Also, Praharaj asserted that the RSS had no role in India’s freedom struggle and instead supported the British. He invoked the legacy of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Pritilata Waddedar, and others, stressing that today’s students and youth draw inspiration from their sacrifice. AIDSO called upon the government to take strict action against Mohandas and similar elements, urging the public to recognise and resist divisive forces.

“No amount of violence or smear campaigns will quell the spirit of students and youth fighting for truth and justice. We will stand united and build a stronger student movement to counter such fascist attacks,” the statement added.
