After hospital discharge Sonam Wangchuk to visit Rajghat before Ladakh return
New Delhi: Climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk said on Monday that he has been discharged from Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. He said he will first visit Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi before returning to Ladakh.
In a post on X, Wangchuk wrote that he was finally leaving the hospital and would head to Rajghat before going back to the mountains. He also thanked everyone who supported him during his stay and expressed special gratitude to the doctors and staff at Medanta Hospital Gurugram for taking care of him.

Wangchuk’s 26 day fast ends in hospitalisation
Sonam Wangchuk joined the NEET irregularity student protest in Jantar Mantar on June 28 and continued his indefinite fast for 26 days. On July 18 he was taken to Safdarjung Hospital where he later said he felt as if he was being kept in detention.
Later the Delhi High Court directed that he be shifted to Medanta Hospital where he continued his treatment. The 36 day protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party came to an end on Saturday after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as the Education Minister. The agitation had started on June 20.
