Adidas Gurugram Tech Hub Layoffs: Find Another Job Before December 15

For employees at ’ tech hub, in India Tuesday was a day that brought a surprise meeting. After the meeting ended hundreds of workers found themselves with a future.

Adidas has removed jobs from its tech team, in India as part of a restructuring to make operations smoother. confirmed the cuts on Wednesday. Adidas did not say how many employees were affected.

“The impact of these changes affects less than 20% of our technology organisation in India,” the company stated in a release shared with a famous publication.

However, this number is much lower than what people who know the situation are saying. A known report states that Adidas has started large-scale layoffs at its tech hub, in Gurugram, India. 350 Employees-or possibly more-have been affected out of a total workforce of about 700 people.

If confirmed the actual impact would be, between 45 percent and 50 percent of the hub’s workforce. The people affected are software engineers, data scientists and data engineers according to sources.

The numbers have not been checked by someone. Adidas has not said that 350 or more people were let go.

What happened at the Adidas tech hub in Gurugram

Employees were told about the changes during an all-hands meeting, on September 15. According to people who know the situation the employees affected by the changes were divided into two groups. Some of them received termination letters on that day September 15.

Others were asked to stay with the company until December 15. Their job, during this time is to finish handing over their tasks to colleagues at technology centres.

Employees in this group have also been given time to look for another position, within the company. They have been told that if they do not find another job by December 15 that will be their day of work according to sources.

Adidas Confirms Job Cuts

Adidas confirmed that positions within Adidas technology division, in India have been cut though Adidas did not disclose the number of affected employees. Adidas stated that this restructuring is part of Adidas effort to adapt Adidas operating model to changing business needs.

Adidas did not specify the number or type of positions affected. Nor did it confirm whether the figure of 350 or more employees mentioned in some reports was accurate.

What is happening with Adidas’ technology operations in India?

Adidas’ Gurugram office holds both the marketing team and a global engineering technology hub. Adidas has been expanding its technology and business work across India. In 2024 Adidas opened a global business services centre, in Chennai.

The company’s website indicated that approximately 650 people worked at its Gurugram and Chennai centres. However, this latest restructuring appears to focus specifically on the technology division.

For the affected employees, the immediate question is what happens next. Some have already received termination notices, while others have a few months to complete the handover of responsibilities and explore internal opportunities. For its part, Adidas states that these changes aim to simplify the organisation and strengthen key capabilities, while maintaining India as a fundamental part of its technology and digital transformation plans.
