Acharya Pramod Krishnam Demanded Thorough Inquiry Into Ram Temple Donation Controversy

Acharya Pramod Krishnam, spiritual leader of Swadhyaya Mandapam, strongly protested against the furore over alleged misappropriation of funds at Ayodhya Ram Temple on Friday. He said that “one or two resignations are not enough” and called for an in-depth investigation, as he described it as a “ loot of people’s faith.”

His comments come on the heels of the high-profile resignations of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust chairman Champat Rai and a member, Anil Mishra, who were said to have resigned for moral reasons after preliminary information from a Special Investigation Team (SIT) exposed serious lapses.

In an interview, Acharya Pramod Krishnam said that the situation was far more serious as it involved financial fraud. He emphasised that “it is not a theft at any trader’s shop or businessman’s factory, it is the loot of people’s faith, one or two resignations don’t matter.

He mentioned that this is not just about ₹200 crore but about ₹1,000 crore. He stated that those who committed this sin need to be revealed.

He said that although a high rank is secondary, the sanctity of religion, however, should be of paramount importance.

Shri Arshit Ji said that the people have faith in the political leadership, in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath (Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh), and they believe that they will be able to get a transparent investigation.

Acharya Krishnam also lashed out at the Opposition parties for exploiting the issue to attack the government and the temple.

Furthermore, after the SIT report, the law enforcement machinery was set in motion on Thursday night, and an FIR was filed against eight people. Eight accused, including attendants at the temple, counting staff and former bank officials, have all been arrested and jailed.
