‘I was crushed under tractor’: Bengaluru woman alleges Rapido left her without support
New Delhi: A Bengaluru woman has accused bike taxi platform Rapido of failing to provide adequate support after she suffered serious injuries in a road accident during a ride booked through the app.
The 32-year-old Sani Krishna said the accident took place on June 17 while she was travelling to work on a Rapido bike near Bagmane Tech Park. According to her, the rider attempted to overtake a tractor, causing the motorcycle to lose balance. She alleged that she was thrown onto the road before being run over by the tractor.
Krishna sustained multiple serious injuries and has since undergone several surgeries. She later shifted to a hospital in Kerala for further treatment.
Woman says medical bills have crossed Rs20 lakh
In a video shared on Instagram, Krishna said she underwent an emergency splenectomy and suffered severe liver damage, nine fractured ribs, a collapsed lung and facial injuries. She claimed that her medical expenses have already exceeded Rs 20 lakh, placing a huge financial burden on her family.
Krishna also alleged that Rapido did not provide meaningful assistance after the accident despite promoting its safety measures for women. She claimed that, after sending the company a legal notice, she received only automated responses directing her to the insurance claims process.
“I trusted them for my morning commute. Instead, I was crushed under a tractor and they abandoned me,” she said in her Instagram post.

Legal action planned, Rapido responds
Krishna said she plans to take the matter to the Consumer Court and has accused the company of failing to match the safety assurances it advertises. She also claimed that other users had faced similar experiences.
While responding to her allegations on Instagram, Rapido said it is in contact with Krishna and requested time to complete its investigation into the incident.
The company has not yet commented further on the specific allegations. The matter is expected to proceed through the legal process as Krishna seeks accountability over the accident and the support provided in its aftermath.
