Delhi horror: Class 12 student stabbed outside school after being mistaken for someone else

New Delhi: An 18-year-old student named Raahit became the victim of a fight he had nothing to do with. He was stabbed outside his government school in the Jahangirpuri area of northwest Delhi on Thursday.

Class 8 boy attacks wrong person

According to news agency PTI, the incident happened right outside the gate of Government Boys Senior Secondary School in D-Block, Jahangirpuri.

A younger student from Class 8 brought a knife to school because he wanted to attack another boy he had fought with earlier. But the boy he was actually looking for did not come to school on Thursday.

When the younger student saw Raahit, he thought Raahit was the boy he was mad at.

“However, the intended target was absent from school on Thursday and the juvenile mistakenly identified Raahit, a Class 12 student, as the boy with whom he had the earlier quarrel before attacking him at the school gate,” a senior police officer said.

Quick police action and medical treatment

The minor boy was caught at the spot right after the attack.

When police got a distress call and reached the school, they found that Raahit had already been taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital. Doctors found a knife stuck below his stomach and quickly transferred him to BSA Hospital for better medical care.

Police officers have confirmed that Raahit is now out of danger and his condition is stable.
