AM/NS steel in INS Malvan

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) supplied 100 per cent of the specialised steel required to build INS Malvan, the Indian Navy’s latest indigenously built Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Watercraft (ASW-SWC), commissioned on July 22 at Karwar, Karnataka. Ranjan Dhar, VP, AM/NS India, said: “The commissioning of INS Malvan demonstrates how advanced manufacturing in India is supporting the country’s defence preparedness. Producing specialised naval-grade steel demands stringent quality standards, advanced metallurgical expertise and close collaboration with our customers.”
