Wife killed husband in Australia but his body found after 2 years later in Drishyam movie style

New Delhi: A man who was believed to have travelled to Australia for work was allegedly murdered by his wife and her alleged lover, with his body buried beneath a factory floor and concealed under a layer of concrete in Gujarat’s Jamnagar district.

The victim, identified as Jignesh Mavadiya, had been missing for nearly two years. According to police, his wife, Prithvi alias Bhumiben, repeatedly told family members that he had moved to Australia for employment and was unable to contact them due to company restrictions.

The family’s suspicions grew when relatives planning to travel to Australia asked for Jignesh’s address and contact details, but his wife allegedly failed to provide any information. Following these doubts, Jignesh’s brother filed a missing person’s complaint on July 26, prompting police to reopen the investigation.

During the probe, investigators questioned the accused and searched an industrial shed in Jamnagar. On July 30, police excavated the floor and recovered skeletal remains buried nearly 12 feet underground beneath a thick layer of concrete.

According to investigators, the body had been placed in a deep pit, covered with soil and sealed with about a one-foot-thick concrete slab. Police used power tools to break the concrete before recovering the remains.

Police alleged that Prithvi conspired with her former lover, Nilesh Kachhatiya, and another associate, Balveer Verma, to murder Jignesh. Investigators believe the accused had been in a relationship and planned the killing together.

According to the police, Jignesh was allegedly invited to the industrial shed on the night of May 31, 2024, under the pretext of a gathering, where he was allegedly given liquor laced with cyanide. After his death, the accused allegedly buried the body and covered it with concrete to conceal the crime.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Pratibha said investigators reconstructed the crime scene in the presence of the accused before excavating the site. The skeletal remains have been sent for forensic examination to confirm the victim’s identity.

Police have arrested Jignesh’s wife, her alleged lover and another accomplice. A case has been registered against them on charges including murder, destruction of evidence and other relevant offences. The investigation is ongoing.
