Nora Fatehi revisits childhood memories with new track ‘Ya Baba’ inspired by Tunisian folk classic
Mumbai: Actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has taken a nostalgic journey back to her childhood with the release of her latest song, ‘Ya Baba’, a modern rendition inspired by the iconic Tunisian folk classic ‘Sidi Mansour’.

The Bollywood star shared an emotional video on social media, reflecting on the personal connection she has with the song. Nora revealed that ‘Sidi Mansour’ was a familiar part of her childhood, often played at weddings and cultural gatherings, making the project particularly meaningful for her.
Sharing the clip, Nora wrote that she was revisiting a song that had been an important part of her younger years and was delighted to see it return to her life in a special way. She also encouraged fans to share songs that evoke nostalgic memories for them.
In the video, Nora announced the release of ‘Ya Baba’, a collaboration with acclaimed singer Shilpa Rao. The track has been produced by Sunjoy and draws inspiration from the traditional Tunisian folk song that has been celebrated across generations.
Speaking about the cultural significance of the song, Nora explained that ‘Sidi Mansour’ carries a rich history and has long been associated with festive occasions. She recalled hearing the melody at numerous weddings and events while growing up, which inspired her desire to recreate it for a contemporary audience.
Known for her electrifying dance performances and chart-topping songs, Nora first gained popularity through special appearances in Telugu films such as Temper, Baahubali: The Beginning and Kick 2. She also appeared in Malayalam films including Double Barrel and Kayamkulam Kochunni.
The actress later became a household name after participating in the reality show Bigg Boss in 2015 and showcasing her dancing talent in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Over the years, she has featured in several successful projects, including Street Dancer 3D and Bhuj: The Pride of India.
