Spider-Man Brand New Day Box Office collection Day 1: Tom Holland film records biggest opening in India

New Delhi: Marvel’s latest release,, is off to a flying start at the box office. The film, starring Tom Holland and Zendeya, registered a thunderous opening in India, grossing over Rs 72 crore.

The film has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar (2025) opening day collections in India.

has also recorded the highest opening day collection for a Hollywood movie in India. Scripting history, the grossed Rs 72.44 crore in India, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.

The film recorded India net collection of Rs 60.60 crore, surpassing the previous records set by the Russo Brothers’ directorial, Avengers: Endgame, which minted Rs 65 crore gross and Rs 53.60 crore net. The film even crossed the film Avatar: The Way of Water collection, which earned Rs 48.75 crore gross and Rs 40.30 crore net.

The film was released in theatres on July 30 and opened to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film is the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film stars Tom Holland, Zendeya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman, Marisa Tomei, and Mark Ruffalo in key roles.

The film picks up after the dramatic events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), where the world forgot Peter Parker’s identity following Doctor Strange’s spell.

Unlike its multiverse-heavy predecessor, Brand New Day returns Spider-Man to his street-level roots while introducing new threats, emotional conflicts, and a fresh chapter in Peter Parker’s life.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It is produced by Marvel Studios in association with Sony Pictures.
