Brundha inspects hockey stadium

Jharsuguda: The National Health Mission (NHM) Odisha Director and Jharsuguda district Nodal Officer Brundha D inspected the H Katapali hockey stadium on Tuesday to assess the district’s sports infrastructure and hockey development. Brundha inspected the new turf hockey stadium and applauded the Hockey Association of Jharsuguda for its excellent work in promoting grassroots hockey.

Hockey Association of Odisha vice-president Jeeban Mohanty briefed Brundha on the district’s rapid hockey growth, successful tournaments, coaching programmes and achievements of local players. He also highlighted the urgent need for new facilities, including a gallery and a 5-a-side turf field, to help the stadium host major state and national games.

Brundha commended the Hockey Association’s efforts and commitment to nurturing young talent and strengthening the district’s sporting ecosystem. The visit is expected to accelerate hockey infrastructure development in Jharsuguda, reinforcing the district’s status as an emerging hockey hub.
