Mumbai: Director Imtiaz Ali’s period romantic drama Main Vaapas Aaunga continued its impressive run at the box office, maintaining a steady hold in its second week and emerging as one of the most talked-about films of the season.

Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina and Naseeruddin Shah, the film collected approximately Rs 32.5 crore nett in India by the end of its 13-day theatrical run. The movie has benefited significantly from positive word-of-mouth and strong audience appreciation, helping it sustain momentum despite competition from newer releases.
The film witnessed remarkable growth during its second week, with collections showing a steady upward trend. Trade analysts noted that discounted ticket offers and strong audience recommendations contributed to the film’s consistent performance. On its second Tuesday alone, the film earned around Rs 3 crore nett, taking its 12-day total to nearly Rs 30 crore before crossing the Rs 32 crore mark on Day 13.
Main Vaapas Aaunga opened to modest numbers but gradually gained traction due to its emotional storytelling, performances and Imtiaz Ali’s direction. The film’s strong hold during weekdays has surprised industry observers and positioned it as a potential box-office success.
Set against the backdrop of Partition, the romantic drama has resonated with audiences across key markets, particularly in North India. The film’s growing popularity has also helped it cross the Rs 50 crore mark worldwide, further strengthening its theatrical run.
