Names Of Six Soldiers Killed In Combat During Operation Sindoor Released By Government
The government had released the identities of five Indian Army soldiers and one Air Force member who were killed in the line of duty during Operation Sindoor. They lost their lives during India’s military response against the terror infrastructure based in Pakistan after the heinous attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam last year, which has been made public by the government for the first time.

The names of the air warrior and the dead troops have been added to the Roll of Honour on the National War Memorial website and are etched on Wall 3D of the National War Memorial in New Delhi, under the 2025 section, honouring those who gave their lives for their country.
According to the reports, the six personnel are:
– Subedar Major Pawan Kumar, Headquarters 10 Infantry Brigade
– Rifleman Sunil Kumar, Vir Chakra, 4 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry
– Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar, 5 Field Regiment
– Aviation Technician Mood Muralinaik, 851 Light Regiment
– Havildar Sunil Kumar Singh, 237 Field Workshop Company
– Sergeant Surendra Kumar, Vayu Medal, 39 Wing
Their names have been listed on the National War Memorial, which is the first official acknowledgement by the government of the casualty figures from Operation Sindoor suffered by the Indian Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, in 2025, India launched Operation Sindoor, a military operation against the cross-border terror infrastructure from Pakistan’s soil. The attack by the militants in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which has caused widespread outrage throughout the country, resulted in the approval of the strategic offensive. The exact figures of the mission and its operational results have been kept under tight security cordon, but the naming of these six persons represents the first formal recognition of the sacrifices made by the external security forces of the Indian Armed forces in the high-stakes counter-terror mission.
