BJP holds nationwide protests against Kharge, demands apology for remarks on PM Modi

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday held protests across the country over Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent remarks on PM Narendra Modi. The party held protests in Delhi, Jaipur, Patna, Bhopal, and Kolkata, among other states and demanded apology from him . Clashes with police also broke out at several locations during the protests. Several BJP workers were also detained.

The Delhi State BJP held a protest near Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence on Rajaji Marg. Led by Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra and in the presence of state in-charge Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, approximately 2,000 workers from the Delhi BJP’s Purvanchal, Youth, and OBC Morchas gathered near Sena Bhavan on Rajaji Marg.

BJP workers began their march toward Kharge’s residence, raising slogans. However, police attempted to stop them by erecting barricades at the Kushak Road turnoff, which the workers broke through before proceeding. A heavy police force forcibly stopped them near Sena Bhavan, where they detained approximately 200 officials and workers, including state president Harsh Malhotra, and took them to the Mandir Marg police station in five buses.

Apart from Harsh Malhotra and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, the demonstration was addressed by State Vice President Rajesh Bhatia, General Secretary Mohanlal Gihara, United Front in-charge Sumit Bhasin, Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Purvanchal Front President Santosh Ojha, Youth Front President Rajat Chaudhary, OB Front President Santosh Pal, State Minister Rohit Chahal, Front in-charge and co-in-charge Vipin Bihari Singh, Brijesh Rai, Azad Singh etc. and Office Minister Kailash Jain etc.

Kharge should apologise: Malhotra

Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra said that Kharge used derogatory language against the Prime Minister. “We have come to Kharge’s home today to tell him that Narendra Modi is not only a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but also one of the top leaders in the world and the Prime Minister of India. Kharge must apologize for his comments,” he said

Harsh Malhotra further said that the entire Congress party, whether it’s Rahul Gandhi or Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, is desperate. Consecutive electoral defeats have left them at a loss for words. They constantly spiral into anarchy and are lawless. They want to stage protests outside the Supreme Court, attempt to enter the Supreme Court by holding rallies, and sometimes even reach the doors of Parliament. They disobey any constitutional institution or the laws of the land.

BJP workers protest in Ranchi
