iPhone Duo launch day in India: Why walk-in buyers may miss out

Apple’s iPhone Duo went on sale on Friday, October 23, marking the company’s entry into foldable smartphones. In India, the device starts at ₹2,99,900 and is available through Apple’s online store and selected retail partners, subject to stock.

Availability is the bigger issue on launch day. Apple told Reuters that customers in India would receive units only if they had ordered online, unlike markets where limited walk-in stock was planned. Buyers should check their order status or current online delivery estimate before visiting a store.

Apple lists four storage variants in star white and night sky. The 256GB model costs ₹2,99,900, while the 512GB version is priced at ₹3,24,900. The 1TB model costs ₹3,74,900 and the top 2TB version is ₹4,49,900. Apple’s store also displays EMI and trade-in options, but the final benefit depends on card eligibility and the condition of the exchanged device.

Where buyers can get iPhone Duo

Apple’s India product page says iPhone Duo is available on apple.com/in and through selected partner stores from October 23. Customers can see the device at Apple Store locations and book a session with a Specialist. Reuters reported that launch-day purchase stock in India was reserved for people who had already ordered online. Wider walk-in availability has not been dated.

What the iPhone Duo offers

The first foldable iPhone has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display. It runs on Apple’s A20 Pro chip and iOS 27, supports side-by-side apps, and uses Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID. It is eSIM-only worldwide.

The rear system combines 48MP main and ultra-wide cameras, with up to 2x optical-quality zoom. Apple claims up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display. Buyers should note that some third-party apps may still need optimisation for the foldable screen, while initial supply remains tight.
