Shaurya Sharma climbs six places to top leaderboard in Ahmedabad
Hyderabad: India’s Shaurya Sharma carded the best score of the third round, a five-under-par 67, to take a one-shot lead at four-under 212 at the Final Qualifying Stage of the DP World PGTI Qualifying School 2026-27 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad.

Chandigarh-based Shaurya (71-74-67), who was tied seventh overnight and five shots off the lead at the halfway stage, climbed six places after producing five birdies on Thursday.
Bangladesh’s Md Siddikur Rahman (69-73-71), the first-round leader, and Indian amateur Arin Ahuja (70-73-70) were tied second at three-under 213.
A regular on the DP World PGTI circuit since 2025, Shaurya staged an impressive fightback after finishing the second round tied seventh. He was sharp with his short game on day three, sinking putts from 25 feet and 15 feet for birdies. He also produced some excellent wedge shots to set up three tap-in birdies.
“The long conversions on the third and eighth gave me early momentum. I backed that up with three outstanding wedge shots to end the day high on confidence. I also saved par by draining a long putt on the 13th. I nearly holed out with my second shot on the 12th. This course has provided a tough challenge, but I’m happy to be hitting form at the right time with just one round to go,” Shaurya said.
Meanwhile, Nim Dorji Tamang, who was tied 76th, became the first player from Bhutan to make the halfway cut at the final stage of the DP World PGTI Qualifying School.
At the end of the fourth round, the top 48 players will earn full cards for the 2026-27 DP World PGTI season.
