Shots fired at Tiger Shroff in Mumbai; 1 detained, Bishnoi gang claims responsibility | All we know

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after three men on a motorcycle opened fire at him in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening. Three people, including his driver and an autorickshaw driver, were injured, police said.

According to initial information, Shroff was returning after playing football at a club when the attackers opened fire near Pushpa Park. His driver, identified as Firdos, suffered an injury to his hand. Further details about the condition of the injured were not immediately available.

Police officers and ambulances reached the spot after receiving information about the shooting. Authorities cordoned off the area and deployed 15 police teams to trace the attackers. Investigators are examining footage from CCTV cameras nearby to identify the assailants and establish their escape route.

Post threatens more attacks

A social media post attributed to gangster Anil Pandit claimed that he and Harman Sandhu carried out the attack on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Mumbai Police have not confirmed the authenticity of the claim or the gang’s alleged involvement. “We had called him and tried to explain things to him, but he did not understand. So today, we made sure to explain it to him properly,” the post said in Hindi.

The post also threatened members of the film industry who work with actor Salman Khan. “Anyone in the Mumbai film industry who does not listen to us or works with Salman Khan will be next. Wait and watch.”

Police said the motive behind the shooting remained unclear and would be established through the investigation.

Earlier firing at residence

The incident follows a separate shooting outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu on February 1. Unidentified motorcycle-borne attackers allegedly fired five rounds at the building shortly after midnight. No one was injured. The firing took place around 12.45 am and targeted the first floor of the nine-storey building. One bullet struck the glass of a gym inside the premises.
