Telangana Cricket Association seeks transparency in Hyderabad cricket

Hyderabad: Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) general secretary D. Guruva Reddy has sought an independent audit of apparel contracts to examine the procurement process, selection and allocation of contracts involving SAAG, KRAGBUZZ and MaxMillors, including the disclosure of any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

“Any cancellation should follow the findings of the inquiry and the applicable contractual process,” Mr Reddy said on Saturday.

“It is also important to examine the roles of coaches, selectors and administrators associated with private cricket academies, verify the disclosures made by them and enforce applicable rules wherever violations are established,” he said.

The TCA general secretary said a review of player-selection records across age groups and senior teams was imperative. The review should cover academy affiliations, selection criteria and the representation of district and rural players.

“Compliance with fitness standards and age-eligibility requirements, including disputed documentation, should be audited, and fresh testing should be arranged wherever justified by the evidence,” he said.

The TCA official said the CID should submit a comprehensive and impartial Action Taken Report to the Lokayukta by October 14, 2026, as directed, and that all outstanding allegations should be dealt with in accordance with the law.

“There is a need to make appropriate findings and corrective measures public, subject to legal requirements, privacy safeguards and the integrity of any ongoing investigation,” he said.

The TCA reiterated that its objective was to safeguard fair opportunities for cricketers across Telangana, strengthen institutional transparency and ensure that Hyderabad cricket is administered in accordance with established rules rather than personal influence.
