Airtel Postpaid Plans Bring Free International Roaming From Rs 499
Travelling overseas often comes with an added concern for mobile users: expensive roaming charges. is looking to address that issue with a new range of postpaid plans that offer customers one free international roaming trip every year.

Starting October 8 this year, Airtel postpaid customers will get the roaming benefit along with unlimited data and calls, spam and fraud protection, and access to several entertainment and digital services. The new plans start at Rs 499 per month and the free roaming benefit is available across the range.
The international roaming package includes 5 GB of data, 60 minutes of calls, 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS. The benefit remains valid for five days. Customers can activate the package when they need it, rather than having to use it immediately after subscribing to the plan.
Airtel is also extending the benefit to customers on family postpaid plans. Each family member included in an eligible plan will receive their own free international roaming benefit. This means families travelling abroad can use the five-day roaming package without purchasing a separate international roaming pack for each member.
For individual users, the entry-level plan is priced at Rs 499 and supports a single connection. The Rs 749 plan covers two SIM cards, while the Rs 1,049 plan supports three connections. Airtel also has Rs 1,249 and Rs 1,449 plans for four SIM cards. The top-end Rs 1,799 plan can accommodate up to five SIM cards.
The roaming benefit is not the only addition to the new plans. Airtel is also bundling several digital and entertainment subscriptions, depending on the plan selected. These include Amazon Prime, Apple Music, Apple iCloud+, JioHotstar, Xstream Play Premium, Netflix Basic and Google One.
Across the plans, customers also get unlimited data and calls, along with Airtel’s spam and fraud protection. The company further says its postpaid customers can access Fast Lane technology on 5G networks.
Existing Airtel customers on older postpaid plans can move to the new plans through the Airtel app or by visiting an Airtel store. Prepaid users can also switch to the new postpaid offerings. Customers currently using another telecom operator can make the switch to Airtel through the app or by visiting a store.
