Apple may unveil new smart home hub, HomePod mini, Apple TV on Oct. 13
plans to hold an event on October 13 2026 according to Bloombergs Mark Gurman, in the edition of his weekly ‘Power On’ newsletter. At this event the company is expected to unveil its awaited smart home control hub with a screen, the new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV Gurman stated. All three devices will feature Siri AI at their core, he added. This will be the company’s first event following the September presentation, where it revealed the 2026 iPhone lineup: the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside the iPhone Duo. The October 13 Apple event could mark a major push into the smart home device market. Here is what to expect:

Apple’s new smart home control hub could feature a screen
The big moment of the launch is expected to be the smart home control hub. This hub comes with a built-in screen. It could go up against devices like the Google Nest Hub and the Amazon Echo Show. The device is said to use the S11 chip. That means it should run faster and support Siri AI features. The screen will be used to show things, like weather forecasts, upcoming calendar events and music controls. It’s designed to help manage your home in a seamless way.
It is also expected to include a FaceTime camera, allowing the device to function as a hub for video calls. Additionally, reports indicate that Apple is developing a dedicated operating system for this device, focused on smart home controls.
The HomePod mini could feature the S11 chip
Apple is also expected to unveil an updated version of the HomePod mini. The overall design is likely to remain virtually unchanged, while the inclusion of an improved S11 chip could optimize performance and Siri’s responsiveness. The speaker might also offer tighter integration with Apple’s smart home ecosystem and, possibly, new colour options.
The new Apple TV could focus on performance
The third expected launch is an updated Apple TV. The device is rumoured to receive a more powerful chip-possibly the A19 or A19 Pro-which would improve gaming performance, content streaming, and multitasking. The updated Apple TV could also incorporate deeper Siri AI integration for voice navigation and smart home features. Other potential new features include HDMI pass-through and a redesigned Siri Remote.
All three devices are expected to centre on Siri AI, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, potentially making the October event a significant milestone in Apple’s broader smart home strategy.
