Khairatabad Maha Ganesh procession underway, to be immersed by 2PM

The procession of the has commenced. The organizing committee has planned to complete the immersion by 2:00 PM. The immersion of the Khairatabad deity will take place amidst traditional Sannayi Melam music, without the use of DJ systems. Officials have made elaborate arrangements for the immersion of the ‘Bada Ganesh’ (Grand Ganesha) at Crane No. 5 on NTR Marg.

The organizing committee performed the final puja for the deity at 8:00 PM last night (Thursday). A massive ‘Tusker’ crane was brought from Vijayawada for the procession. There were problems in getting the procession started because of some technical problem in the crane that would lift the idol, but the problem got sorted out, and the idol got lifted onto the crane. Many people have gathered in great numbers to have a look at the idol.

However, there is a very happy atmosphere around the Telangana Talli flyover in Hyderabad. are coming to Tank Bund for immersion with many devotees saying goodbye to them. Due to the expected turnout, there are strict police security arrangements in place.The Khairatabad ‘Bada Ganapathi’ is set to proceed towards the immersion site route passing the South and East gates of the Secretariat; the police have blocked off the designated route for the procession.
