‘Secret Soldier’ is a realistic spy drama: Director Akki Viswanath Reddy
Director Akki Viswanath Reddy is confident that his spy flick Secret Soldier starring Nihal Kodati and Surya Srinivas, which hits the screens on September 18, will surprise the audience with its realistic take and content-driven approach.

Speaking to the media, the director of the Moon Light Dreams banner production said the film, which had undergone an exhaustive censorship process, was all about friendship, with shades of intensity, thriller, action and humour thrown in for good measure.
“Its a real story set in Nellore. But the two friends, who are poles apart from each other in their outlook in life – one willing to sacrifice everything for the country while the other is out to enjoy life to the fullest, stumble on to espionage (spy) and it takes them through different shades of adventure,” he noted.
The film also stars Kamal Kamaraju, Raghu Babu, Rangasthalam Mahesh, Srinivas Vadlamani and Srikanth Iyengar in pivotal roles. The buzz around the film has already been great with the makers saying that the unique concept and its presentation has attracted people.
“The entire censored version of the film was screened in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata (before it was cleared for screening). We had to change the title (China Piece), because the title itself had taken a political colour,” he added.
Shot in Nellore, Hyderabad, Galwan and Bengaluru in about 45 days, the director said he wanted to take the audience through the eyes of an ordinary man to the world of espionage.
