UK Man Pleads Guilty To Drugging And Raping Wife For Over 20 Years

A man in his 60s has been found guilty in the UK of dozens of offences towards his wife, including multiple incidents of her being drugged and raped over the course of over 20 years.

At Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, the man pleaded guilty to offences that occurred between 2004 and 2025, with the survivor having a legal right to anonymity.

The survivor was in the public gallery during the hearing, and accompanied by members of her family, according to a BBC report cited by NDTV.

Man admits guilt to several crimes

The defendant became upset when he entered guilty pleas to the charges, including several counts of rape, assault by penetration and administering a substance with intent.

He had also previously confessed to sharing nudes or videos of his wife with other people without her permission for sexual gratification.

Police kept their focus on helping the survivor through a complex investigation, Greater Manchester Assistant Chief Constable Rick Jackson said.

He encouraged victims of drug-facilitated sexual abuse to reach out to authorities, emphasizing they do not need to have evidence, certainty or a full memory of what happened before going to authorities.

Twelve Other Men Deny Allegations

Several other men are also charged in the case for the same woman.

Twelve co-defendants, aged between 28 and 74, have denied the allegations against them. They have been identified as Philip Wild, 58; Sean Peers, 38; Jordan Wallace, 31; Alan Keelan, 42; Jonathan Kirk, 43; Robert Stewart, 70; Mohammed Sabir, 28; Graham Brougham, 74; Richard Townsend, 37; Karl Lindsay, 55; Daniel Rayner, 42; and David Graves, 59.

The 13th man earlier pleaded guilty to sexual offences against the woman.

The allegations against the co-defendants have not yet been proved, because they have denied the accusations.

Trial To Continue

The trial of the other defendants is set to resume in the coming weeks.

The husband will receive a sentence for the offences to which he has pleaded guilty at the end of the trial.

The case has been pending in court for over 20 years and has been pending against the other accused men.
