Mayawati thinks only about herself- Samajwadi Party
New Delhi: The political heat ahead of the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh due next year is increasing between the Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party and Congress Party.

On the day when Mayawati accused former BSP Rajya Sabha member Ashok Siddharth of indulging in anti-party activities, forcing him to quit politics, the SP accused Mayawati of being a self-centred person. He said she thinks only about herself and not society. It may be mentioned here that Mayawati had also set her nephew Akash Anand free from activities of the party alleging that his personal attachment appeared to outweigh his concern for his own political career.
Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ashutosh Verma said that the BSP, despite being in power four times in UP, had failed to fulfil the dreams envisioned by Babasaheb Ambedkar. He said the Dalit Samaj had understood that Mayawati does politics only for herself and that is why she badly lost the last elections. However, she does not seem to have learnt any lesson, he said.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Minister and Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad, who had earlier offered Akash Anand to join his party, again urged him to come forward and keep fighting for the “neglected sections” and fulfill the dream of Kanshi Ram and B.R. Ambedkar.
“He should make a decision because a person committed to a mission never retires. He should fight for the rights and entitlements of the neglected sections of society, people who have been oppressed for 5,000 years, and for those 80 crore people who depend on food assistance. They should be brought into the mainstream of development. He should stand for the rights of the weaker sections of society. Nishad is a person committed to a mission,” he added.
