The Knowledge Habitat schools turn Teachers’ Day into a tribute to lasting teacher memories
Bengaluru: The Knowledge Habitat schools marked Teachers’ Day with “Roots of Habitat”, a 360-degree initiative that transformed the institution’s tree-inspired logo into a visual tribute to teachers and the lasting impact of their everyday gestures.

The initiative was rolled out across the school’s three campuses, where students and teachers were greeted by a large, bare tree installation ahead of Teachers’ Day. Subtle messages hinting that “something is growing” created curiosity before the idea behind the installation was revealed.
Students were invited to choose a teacher who had influenced their learning journey and write the teacher’s name along with a cherished memory on an individual leaf. The memories often went beyond academics, recalling words of encouragement, reassurance during difficult moments, timely guidance or simply the comfort of having a teacher they could approach.
As students added the leaves, the bare tree gradually transformed into a flourishing installation filled with names and personal messages of gratitude.
The initiative also created emotional moments for teachers, who discovered the messages written by their students. Many were surprised to learn that seemingly small gestures from their everyday interactions had remained memorable for years.
“Roots of Habitat” extended beyond the physical installations through in-person conversations, digital storytelling and alumni participation. Former students shared memories of teachers and experiences from their school years that continued to influence them long after graduation.
The initiative sought to highlight the enduring relationship between teachers and students and the role of encouragement and care in shaping children’s growth.
Conceptualised and executed in collaboration with Socio Street Advertising LLP, the campaign presented Teachers’ Day as an opportunity for students to express gratitude and acknowledge the lasting influence of their teachers.
