18 years, over 100 shows and counting: ‘Under the Mangosteen Tree’ brings Basheer’s world to Kottayam

Directed by Rajiv Krishnan, the play is presented by Perch, a theatre collective based in Chennai. Instead of adapting one Basheer story in isolation, Rajiv brings together characters and episodes from several of the writer’s classics, allowing them to inhabit the same theatrical world.
