Mamata Banerjee’s Niece Found Dead At Birbhum Home, Police Begin Probe
Brishti Mukherjee Ghatak, the niece of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was discovered dead at her home in Rampurhat in the Birbhum district on Tuesday, September 1. Her death is being investigated by the police.

The cause of death remains unknown, authorities said. Her body has been handed over to Rampurhat Govt Medical College & hospital for post mortem examination which will give more details.
It was reported that Brishti was going through a divorce process with husband at the time of her death. But it remains unknown at this point if those proceedings that are going on now are linked to her death.
Brishti had a history of being in the news in relation to the primary teacher recruitment case where questions were raised about the manner in which she was appointed to work in the government as a primary teacher.
Police in the Rampurhat area are probing the events that may have contributed to her death. More information will be available upon the completion of the post-mortem examination.
The case is being investigated and the circumstances of Brishti Mukherjee Ghatak’s death are yet to be known.
