Apple Watch Series 12, Ultra 4 Could Bring These Two Health Upgrades: Check
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in his PowerOn newsletter, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 and Watch Ultra 4 are being tested with always-on heart rate monitoring. Right now, the Apple Watch checks your heart rate mainly during workouts or at set intervals throughout the day. If this new feature makes the cut, that could change to near-constant tracking, giving wearers a far more detailed picture of how their heart rate shifts through different activities and times of day.

A simpler way to view your health data
Heart rate monitoring isn’t the only thing getting a potential overhaul. Gurman also reports that Apple is rethinking the entire health and fitness dashboard on its watches. The goal, it seems, is to present wellness data in a way that’s less scattered and more digestible – something closer to what dedicated fitness trackers like Whoop and Oura already offer.
Instead of the current focus on individual workout sessions or isolated readings, the redesigned interface could give users a fuller, more continuous view of how their body behaves across an entire day, rather than just snapshots here and there.
New colours and a ceramic option, too
Health features aside, Apple is apparently freshening up the watch’s looks as well. Gurman notes that a ceramic version of the Apple Watch Series 12 is in testing, expected to come in white and dark grey finishes. New band colorus and styles are also said to be in the pipeline for the updated lineup.
Both the Apple Watch Series 12 and Watch Ultra 4 are expected to debut at Apple’s September hardware event, where the next iPhone line-up will likely take centre stage too. Mark your calendar – the event is set for September 9.
