Sobhita’s latest photoshoot sees her flaunting her most statement fashion yet

Fresh off her breakthrough role in the Amazon Prime original crime thriller Cheekatilo, Sobhita Dhulipala is back in the spotlight, this time for a fashion editorial in Vogue India. As someone who is consistently known to push boundaries with her sartorial choices, the actress continues to surprise with yet another unique take on traditional Indian attire.

From heavily embroidered jackets, paired with sheer black stockings and knee-high boots, to embellished lehenga skirts and thigh-highs, Sobhita’s latest shoot is all about mixing traditional Indian tailoring and embroidery with modern streetwear motifs

A gold sequined mermaid skirt is juxtaposed against a white sweater in one look while a flowy floral coat with feather detailing is balanced with denim and a plain white tank top.

The star also experiments with the use of headpieces in her trousseau looks. As she wears a red turban with a vintage brooch, the actress manages to contemporize the traditional headpiece with the aid of a modern leather jacket.

What stands out in this particular editorial is the way in which classic silhouettes are used as individual fashion statements, as opposed to being used as part of a traditional wedding ensemble. By mixing traditional Indian tailoring, embroidery and embellishments with knee-high boots, thigh-highs, hosiery, denim and minimalistic separates, Sobhita Dhulipala’s Vogue India editorial manages to blur the lines between modern street style and traditional Indian fashion.
