ADEETIE scheme gains pace, draws 1,070 EoIs from MSMEs

New Delhi: The Union Government’s drive to strengthen the MSME sector and accelerate sustainable industrial development through the adoption of globally proven energy-efficient technologies is gaining significant momentum, with the Assistance for Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme attracting over 1,070 Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from MSMEs across the country.

The scheme being implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, is aimed at enabling MSMEs to adopt energy-efficient technologies, reduce operating costs, improve productivity and enhance their global competitiveness.

According to the latest reports, more than 1,070 EoIs have been received from MSMEs for conducting Investment Grade Energy Audits (IGEA). As many as 203 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have subsequently been prepared, involving a total project value of Rs985.83 crore.

The financing pipeline has also witnessed substantial progress, with 103 projects sanctioned for credit facilities totalling Rs707.54 crore. Of this, Rs212.58 crore has been sanctioned for micro and small enterprises, while Rs501.05 crore has been sanctioned for medium enterprises.

Disclosing these details during an interactive session with Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, CEO, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), senior BEE officials, industry executives and other stakeholders, BEE Director General Krushna Chandra Panigrahy called for closer coordination among State Designated Agencies (SDAs), industry associations, financial institutions, energy auditors and other stakeholders.
