‘Ameer Log’ director Ramana Reddy promises a true-to-life Hyderabadi tale

Director Ramana Reddy Soma feels his upcoming film Ameer Log is a true-to-life Hyderabadi story about the basti culture, with natural performances and relatable characters. It is Awwal Number productions’ first venture and will release in Telugu on August 21.

Speaking to media, Soma stated the journey began with his reading and writing phase. He adds that being an architect, the pandemic situation motivated him to learn movies’ art and narrate the tales through films. The director further stated that he spent two years shaping the Ameer Log story, which revolves around three youngsters who stumble upon each other in Hyderabad’s basti. He also mentioned while most films opt for locations, they chose to shoot in a real-life basti to capture the vibe and authenticity. They shot the film, including the demo, in 43 days, with 38 days spent in the locality.

Soma stated that they opted for sync sound as dubbing did not do justice to the natural performances. The movie also has Hyderabad’s unique language – Telugu, with Urdu and Hindi words.

In addition, Soma disclosed that the film got positive response from various industry people after the screening. He further added praise for music director Smaran for composing 10 tracks that complemented the film’s narrative. Ameer Log stars MC Hari, Manoj and Sasidhar as a family entertainer that promises to deliver humor, emotion and Hyderabadi flavour.
