Brent crude trade higher at $89.41/bbl

Crude oil prices rose 0.61 per cent to Rs 7,892 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following firm spot demand.

Crude oil for September delivery traded higher by Rs 48 in 1,132 lots.

Analysts said the rise of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.62 per cent higher at $83.72 per barrel, while Brent crude rose 0.56 per cent to $89.41 per barrel in New York.
